Let's start off by saying that this country is filled with treasures. I only traveled to Warsaw and krakow but it was the towns I between that are not to be missed. Poland was taken over by both the Nazis and Russians and feel in tough times. But after Poland gained it's independence it prospered. The first shopping center in Poland was IKEA and it brought in many people wanting to see what the West had to offer. Many of Ikeas products are made in Poland. Then there is the sadder history of Poland, during the times when the Nazis were in control of Poland they built concentration camps, I visited Auschwitz 1 and 2. Visiting them both was hard and I don't think that one would have truly understood what went on in the times when they were all there. I find that I learned more about what happened at the spot itself then I ever did at school. In Poland one must visit the many traditional restaurants. I went to an amazing family run restaurant outside of krakow and had traditional kielbasa, pierogi, and traditional food. While at the restaurant we were danced, drank, and had a good old time. I love Poland and all of it's natural beauty. One cannot say that it's boring if they have never been there. We also visited the spot where the Black Madona was and it was another place not to miss if you ever go to Poland. Another one is to visit the salt mines that are located in krakow. The salt mine has three levels that are open to the public and have many interesting salt statutes that one has to see.
