Well lets start off with saying that I enjoyed traveling on board all these flights.
Delta 143 Well this flight was one that I had to say that I would not have enjoyed but I did since I got to speak to the captain and both of the first officers. I had an amazing time flying with them. I can say that the flight was a very bumpy one and all the other flights for the day were bumpy too. I actually watched a film on board which was the movie Bad Grandpa and it was very funny and I enjoyed it. We were served three meals on board one was the main one which was a choice of either pasta or Thai curry chicken and I had the pasta which was good but I think the chicken would have been a better choice, the second meal was a small snack of a small sandwich which was fine, then the final one was the pre-arrival meal and I had the three cheese calzone and boy was that yummy. The one down side was that I kept getting shocked by my arm rest which some how had an electrical charge going through it. But the flight was good and I did get a little sleep and I was glad to be on the ground after the long flight. But I will miss flying on a big plane. Delta 1145 Well this flight was something to speak about, I mean I am going to honestly rate the cleanliness of the plane a 5/10, due to the fact the was big dust balls located in the overhead system and that there was dust above and also it would in my opinion need to go in for a cleaning. But the flight was ok even with the turbulence. The plane was a 757-300 and it offered WiFi onboard and I would say it is sloooooooow but it always is when traveling on an aircraft traveling to the west coast. Over all I loved flying with Delta on this aircraft and I even enjoyed seeing our approach into San Francisco, we approached over the bay and came in on 28R. Interesting fact is that the plane made some strange noises while taxiing and I think it needs to have some WD40 added to the landing gear to fix it haha! Delta Shuttle 6447 The flight was a short one only an hour but boy what a view did I get while taking off out of San Francisco. The fog began to roll in over the mountains and made for an interesting sight when we took off and I loved to watch it just roll on down and come over the city. The flight attendants were one sight for the eyes but that's something else. I enjoyed watching the sun set over the state of California and we came into LAX over the city of Los Angeles and I got to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood sign and also we came into the airport with a US airways A321 aircraft landing on 25R while we landed on 24R. The sight of all the tails at the Tom Bradley terminal was a shock to me and I wouldn't regret it. A very interesting thing was that we joined a Delta 767-300WL and I would say that we must have been super close to it while taxiing to the gate. For now I would like to say thank you to all of you who have been reading my blog and look out for my next post coming up on the Amtrak service up the West Coast. Totals for one day of flying
Meals: 3 meals: Breakfast over Europe, Lunch in Detroit, and Dinner over California 3 snacks: 1st over the Atlantic ocean, 2nd over Northern Canada, 3rd over Nebraska 2 cups of ginger ale 2 cups of tea 3 cups of orange juice 4 packs of peanuts and mini pretzels 19 hours of traveling and 14 of those were flying 9 different time zones 2 planes with wifi 2 security check points: one in Frankfurt and the other in Detroit 7 different pilots 3 different planes 7,600 steps walked And finally one tired 18 year old! The city of Prague is very interesting and the Czech Republic is a country full of treasures. When I visited the city I was surprised to see all the amazing beauty and architecture. I would have to say that the one down side that I had on the tour would have to be the hotel that we stayed at. The hotel was named Andels which translates into Angels, but the room itself was on my rating scale a 4/10 due to certain things such as there were paint chips on the TV stand, there were stains on the carpet, behind the headboard there is a light and every time you would move it would hit the wall and there are marks from that, the bathroom has a glass door for the toilet and I find it to be stupid and also there are semi-glossy windows that face the bedroom and it is for natural light but it is honestly is not needed. Anyways the city has a river called the Vlitava and it is something that is stunning. The country is known for its glass goods and I can say they are very beautiful are not to be missed. The city of Prague has many things to offer and many interesting things too, one of them is located in the area of the Andels hotel and it is a model train exhibit which I went to visit, I have to say that nothing can beat seeing one of the most stunning views of model railroading. I absolutely loved it, they have a system that creates a sight of being in a real city with dimming lights that simulate night time and then they come back on slowly like it is in the morning. I also loved going the river cruise and seeing the city from a river view. Out of all I think the trip was a huge success and I would recommend that everyone go to on a tour of the Bohemian countries.
I'm writing this from what I can remember from this amazing city. The city of Vienna or as its called Wien is one city that has a lot of amazing sights and sounds. I love to see a new city and this city was one that has been on my list for a while and man was I shocked when I went there. There is a lot to do but its also an expensive one. I spent most of my time inside the city and saw the expensive side. But I would say that the hotel was the best part of the stay in Vienna, with a view of the Danube you wouldn't want to ever leave the room. I had an amazing dinner at the hotel restaurant which had the amazing view of the Danube from where I sat. The city has a vivid history and I would like to say that at some point of time I honestly got bored of listening about it haha. I would say that there are many statues that are scattered around the city and make it seem fun haha but I think everything that I saw was a positive thing because one cannot just go to Vienna and not see the beautiful buildings that scatter the city. I loved the city. That's all I have to say.
Well the city of Budapest is one city in Europe not to be missed since it has a lot of lovely sights, mainly during the evening hours. Upon arriving in Hungary we were told of how beautiful the country is and what to look forward to. Interesting fact that our tour guide told us was that on two seperate occasions a tour bus was stolen in Budapest, I find that to be very funny. Anyways the city was once divided into two sides one side was Buda which is the hilly part of the city and the other was Pest or as they say it Pescht. The two sides would try to out do one another by building magnificant churches which symbolized the power of one another. The cities were divided by the Danube which if you look at it right is blue, we will learn about the significance of the water colors later, but the two joined together and formed Budapest and was also part of the Roman empire which gave Budapest the name Aquincum. Later on the country would be formed into Austro-Hungary and then be taken over by the Nazis during World War II and then fall into the hands of the Soviets after the war. During the time of Soviet occupation many of the buildings were turned into giant family housing. But enough history, lets get to point, a must do thing in Budapest is go take a river cruise on the Danube at night because that is one of the most spectacular sights ever. I am shocked and in awe at how beautiful it was to see the city glistening at night and seeing the amazing Parlament building lite up. If you go to Budapest you must, I say must go on a river cruise or dinner cruise at night on the Danube. I can say that the city of Budapest has a lot of interesting people and things to see but the Danube is a must. I also visited a family run winery which I can say I got a little tipsy at due to the strong Hungarian wine, but otherwise the food itself was perfect and the company I shared it with was even better. During the summer the city can get pretty warm and is always pleasent since you can go out and find all kinds of treasures that one would not expect to find at home. I found some amazing gifts in St. Andrews church area and even some traditional Hungarian clothing that is worn for costumes. I also visited a part of a excavation site where the Romans once lived. The city has many sights and sounds but it is the most beautiful at night when everything is glistening with beauty. I am going to say that Budapest is better than Paris, London, or Zurich for the reason of that it is just stunning to see all the lights on the Danube at night. I absolutely loved going to Budapest and would love to go back to just see the city. Now about the water color, it is said that if you see the Danube colored blue then you are in love, but if its black or gray your love has gone away. Just watch out if your with your wife or lover!
