So lets start out by saying that the wonderful city of Berlin is one not to be missed when on holiday in Europe, with its world famous curry wurst, its shopping, its amazing statues of the bears of Berlin, and its magnificant subway system. The city is full of treasures to be found. Like me I've been able to rome around the city like I have lived there my whole life. I find the U-Bahn very fast and efficient for a traveler who has never been to Berlin, you just purchase a ticket for all three zones and then you go scan the ticket and wait for the subway to come and just hop on then your whisked to your destination. I traveled on it and found it quick and simple, even better than the MUNI system in San Francisco which has a lot of riders but very hard to understand. While in Berlin I visited the reichstag, the famous Berlin TV tower which offers 360 degree views of the city, we also visited the Brandenburg gate which was a sight to see if you ever go. The hotel was the Hilton Berlin which was located centrally in the middle of town giving me an extensive choice of shopping and transportation choices. Having been in Berlin last year when Obama visited gave me a limited view of Berlin but this time I had a lot more time to go out and see the town. For shopping I chose the famous KaDeWe department store where they have a fine shopping experience on the first floor with Mont Blac to name one but there are many more, then they have clothing on the 2-3 floors, the 4th floor has home shopping I believe and then I believe the 5th floor has a toy store which has many goodies such as HO gauge marklin trains, model airplanes, building kits, and many other goodies for the kids. After visiting there I went down the street to the Lego store which has 3 floors the top offers an area where children can sit and build with the Legos, the 2nd and 1st floors offer the Lego kits for anyone who enjoys them plus you can make your own Lego person for 2.49€ or if you make three it's going to cost you 6.49€ which is ok if your feeling a little spendy. After that I traveled a little further to the Saturn media store which has everything from music to appliances, interestingly enough I found my favorite American show Emergency! offered in German and they even had the whole series in a box set for 99€ but I had to fight temptation to buy it but I did buy season 4 of the show which now I can watch in German! After that I traveled back to the underground station and went to back to the hotel. The other must see store in Berlin is the famous chocolate store next to the Hilton Berlin, the store features a full soccer player made out of chocolate, the titanic made out of chocolate, the reichstag made out of chocolate, an airliner made out of chocolate and a few more things made out of chocolate for you lovers of that specialty. Another store is the ampleman store which is the famous store that offers everything in the famous crossing sign man form. The first night we went to the Löwenbrau restaurant that offers authentic German food and it was to die for, I couldn't even finish my meal because of how big it was! I love my curry wurst so I had to have it in Berlin where it is famous, man was it delicous! We'll I will write about Warsaw later but for now I hope you enjoy the little insight I have given you on Berlin.
